Four-star 2026 prospect Luca Foster talks move to Link Academy, updates recruitment

KANSAS CITY, KS — Four-star class of 2026 wing Luca Foster has become one of the best players in the class of 2026 and on the EYBL circuit this summer. At 6-foot-5, 185 pounds, he’s spending his summer with Team Final and has averaged 14.9 points and 3.5 rebounds so far this season. Foster and his Team Final squad have their eyes set on next month’s Peach Jam and are looking to finish the summer with a championship in North Augusta.

“Win Peach Jam and make Peach Jam is the main goal,” Foster told ZAGSBLOG. “We have a lot of things to work on defensively, and we have to stop having to come back in games from the first half. I’ve been working on my ball handling a lot and that’s something I’m hoping to get better at.”

Foster recently announced his plans to transfer from Archbishop Carroll (PA) to the prestigious Link Academy (MO), citing his focus on getting ready for basketball at the collegiate level and his admiration for head coach Chad Myers.

“Leaving my high school was a big decision for me, but I just think it’s the best thing for me, for my development process,” Foster said. “I’m trying to be ready for college. I feel like Link Academy is going to be the best option for me to do that. To me, [Myers] is the best coach around. He’s got a big name, so I’m super excited to play for him. I’m just really excited to have him as a coach.”

On the recruitment front, Foster has collected a handful of offers from schools like Georgetown, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pitt, Seton Hall, St. Joe’s, Temple, Vanderbilt Villanova, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Xavier. He also has interest from Alabama, BYU, Notre Dame, Syracuse and Texas.

Foster has taken unofficial visits to Penn State, Pitt, St. Joe’s and Villanova under the old staff. He doesn’t have any others scheduled at the moment. Here’s Foster’s breakdown of the schools he’s visited:

Penn State: “I love Mike Rhoades. He’s just a really good guy, also a really good coach. I like the way they play their guards too. So there’s a lot of love I have for them.”

Pitt: “I loved it. I really like the coaching staff, really like their playstyle. I really like the way they play their wings and guards. They have a lot of freedom and that’s something I like to do.”

Saint Joseph’s: “I love Coach Billy Lange. He’s a really good guy. He’s just a really good coach. I also really like the way he also plays his guards, getting a lot of threes up. It gives him a lot of confidence too, so that’s another good thing.”

Villanova: “I loved it. I really like the coaching staff, really like their playstyle. I really like the way they play their wings and guards. They have a lot of freedom and that’s something I like to do.”

Foster said he values what he learns from his first time stepping on each campus.

“Having a good visit is really important to me,” Foster said .”I need to feel love from the whole coaching staff. That’s like a big thing for me. I need to know they want me there, I can trust them and they can trust me. Relationship status is a really big thing for me.”

Foster is a four-star in the class of 2026 and is ranked as the No. 34 overall recruit in the class, according to 247Sports.
