Four-star ’26 prospect Parker Robinson updates recruitment process

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC — The summer season has been a dominant one so far for Team Takeover and four-star class of 2026 prospect Parker Robinson. Robinson and his squad finished the regular season with a 14-1 record on their way to Peach Jam. While Takeover has started 0-2 in pool play, the goal for this team remains winning it all at the biggest event of the summer.

“Just control what we can control,” Robinson said. “Coach has put an emphasis on the fact that the only team that’s going to beat us is ourselves. Like, if you look around the talent pool, not saying it’s weak, but we have everything we need to win. So as long as we can stay together, play as one team, play how we been playing all year long, we should be able to come out with a Peach Jam win.”

The 6-foot-5 guard has been a key piece for Takeover this summer, averaging 12.1 points, 1.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. Robinson’s focus this summer is all about winning, and he’s been doing a lot of that so far.

“I’d just say a high-energy player that can kind of do a lot of things,” he said about his game. “I can shoot the ball at a pretty high level, get downhill when I need to. Defensively, I’m building up my on-ball defense, but normally, I’m in the right spots when it comes to my rotations and stuff. So I’m just an overall winning player. Whatever you need me to do, I can do it.”

Once the summer season is over, Robinson expects to make decisions concerning both his game at the next level and his next season of high school basketball. The Overtime Elite guard is still undecided on whether or not he will remain with Overtime for another season.

“Yeah, just looking into some scholastic options,” Robinson told ZAGSBLOG. “Trying to figure out what scheduling and what environment will be best for me to prepare for college next year.”

As for his college recruiting, Robinson has generated a long list of offers from high-level programs at the next level. The guard has picked up offers from schools such as Maryland, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Providence, Villanova, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. He’s taken unofficial visits to Maryland and West Virginia with plans on scheduling official visits once Peach Jam is over.

Robinson broke down some of the programs in contact most:

Maryland: “So I haven’t talked to Buzz [Williams] yet, but one of the guys from Overtime, Aki Collins, just went over there. He got a job over there, so he’s going to put me in touch with their guys so far, and I grew up like 45 minutes away from campus. When I went out there on an unofficial when coach Willard was there, it was beautiful. I know they’re building a new facility down there, so l’m excited to see what that looks like. But that’s like my hometown school, so let’s see what happens.”

Oklahoma State: “I’ve been talking to Coach [James] Miller a lot. I haven’t had a chance to get down on campus or watch much of what they do, but everything he’s been telling me so far has been great. l’m excited to get down there and see it.”

Providence: “Kim English was recruiting me there and Tim Fuller. I think Tim Fuller, just left, though, to Missouri. He was an Overtime guy, so you know they’ve been super nice. They’ve been reaching out recently. Super nice facility. Haven’t really been able to get out there, but from what I’ve seen, they’re building something.”

Villanova: “I’ve been talking to coach [Kevin] Willard a lot. He recruited me at Maryland. I like what he was doing over there, the style of play they have, the way he coaches. He’s a very involved coach. I went on an unofficial there. I saw how he was at practice. Super involved with the players jumping in drills. Really aggressive, and that’s the style of coach that I like. So that stood out to me.”

Virginia: “I’ve been talking to coach [Ryan] Odom a lot and coach [Bryce] Crawford, both of them. They recruited me at VCU while they were there, and obviously, they left to Virginia now. The ACC is a bit of a more difficult conference, but with all these coach switches, really, I’m just excited to see what they do this year. See how the teams play and see how l’II be able to affect the roster.”

West Virginia: “I like what they were doing last year with coach [Darian] DeVries, obviously. But this year there’s been a change, so I’m excited to see what they can do this year with the new style of play, the type of players they’re bringing in. I’m excited to see how I can fit that mold.”

Robinson plans to narrow down his list of schools once he starts making official visits, and he hopes to make a commitment sometime in the winter.

Robinson is the No. 81-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. His favorite player is Stephen Curry. He enjoys listening to country music and his favorite hobby outside of basketball is playing golf.
