The Buckeyes had no issue putting up points against the Minnesota Gophers on Thursday. The Badgers and Nittany Lions, meanwhile, put up a combined goose egg in the first half of their contest on Saturday afternoon.
Quarterbacks Sean Clifford and Graham Mertz combined for 83 passing yards in the first two quarters. Somehow Penn State was even worse in its rushing attack. The Nittany Lions finished the first half with two rushing yards – yes two – on eight carries. The Badgers were much better in that department (31 carries for 90 yards).
We have a feeling Ohio State fans loved every second of the Penn State-Wisconsin first half on Saturday.

The Buckeyes already look like they have one of the best offenses in college football. They put up 45 points on a stingy Minnesota defense. 35 of those points came in the second half.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud didn’t get going until the second half of Thursday’s game. But when he did, he couldn’t be stopped. The talented passer wound up with 294 passing yards and four touchdowns with one interception, leading the Buckeyes to a 45-31 victory.
If Penn State and Wisconsin don’t find answers on the offensive side of the ball the Big Ten is, once again, Ohio State’s to lose.
