As the Panthers continue to climb, Cardiac Hill will be back to cover the stories

Welcome back everyone

When I saw that there was an open position for Cardiac Hill I knew it was something I needed to be a part of. Some of you may already know me as I also write over at Big Blue View but let me introduce myself and why this meant so much to me. As a young child moving to the Poconos, you are initially surrounded by Penn State country, this was something that never really appealed to me. It took a trip out to Pittsburgh at around 11 years old that made me know. I spent time around the campus as my sister went to UPMC and fell in love. Seeing the football stadium just before its demolition and seeing the liveliness of the campus, I was hooked. While my life journey took me on a different path and I never got to attend the University of Pittsburgh, I never lost that attachment.

From that point on I became obsessed with the Pittsburgh Panthers, particularly the football and basketball teams. From the football side, I started watching under Walt Harris with players like Antonio Bryant and Larry Fitzgerald picking apart defenses. To the Dave Wannstedt era where players like LeSean McCoy and Darrell Revis shined and there seemed to be pro-ready running backs at all times. To now under Pat Narduzzi where the team looks to be set for long-term success.

In Basketball going through the rollercoaster of emotions from the classic Big East tournaments at the Garden, to feeling the high expectations in March that always seemed to end in heartbreak. Watching DeJuan Blair, Levance Fields, and Sam Young get the Peterson Events Center electric during their runs under Jamie Dixion. I remember the heartbreak of Scottie Reynolds’ driving the length of the court and screaming at the TV to stop the ball before falling to Villanova in the Elite Eight. With now having new hope under Jeff Capel to get the team back to where I remember them being.

Like many of you, I have always gravitated toward sports. From the highs of the wins to the lows of the losses. With final second game winners to improbably comebacks and big upsets. For me, those feelings will always stick out. These are the things I want to help bring to you each week. This is a new journey for me covering college athletics, I will be learning and growing but the one thing I am dedicated to doing is being there to help bring the stories to the moments we will remember, like the memories I have.

I took this role to revitalize this website and bring everyone back together. I look forward to seeing the comment section flow on game days and whenever big news happens. I look forward to interacting with everyone on Twitter or any other platform and being a part of this community. I am committed to helping bring the news and stories that you all want to see from us here at Cardiac Hill. I, and the staff writers here, look forward to all the memories we will make and the moments we will capture when we are fully up and running on October 1st. So we welcome everyone back to enjoy the ride.

Hail 2 Pitt.
