College Football World Reacts To Preseason Top 10 Rankings

On Thursday, ESPN unveiled its preseason top 10 based off its Football Power Index. It didn’t take long for fans to start debating these rankings.

Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia are currently the top three teams in the country, per ESPN’s FPI. Clemson and Notre Dame round out the top five, which makes sense considering both programs have a lot of talent returning for the 2022 season.

Of course, this preseason top 10 isn’t going to look very appealing to people who are tired of watching Alabama compete for national championships.

“It is impressive how invested we get in a sport that basically gives the same couple outcomes each year,” former NBA first-round pick Sam Dekker replied. “Excited to see who Bama faces in the title this upcoming season!”

One of the main complaints with this list is that Texas is ranked No. 6 in the country. Countless fans believe that’s way too high.

“Texas?? Lol ESPN is ridiculous,” one fan said. “No metric exists that would suggest Texas should be in this group.”

Another fan wrote, “UT fans HAVE to get tired of being in the top 10 every preseason season only to be mediocre right?”

Do you agree with ESPN’s current top 10?
