Deion Sanders Claps Back at Pat Narduzzi’s Critique of Colorado Team Overhaul

Deion Sanders is known to post his share of motivational and inspirational quotes on Twitter.

The message Sanders chose for today seemed to have a definite reason behind it. It comes after Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi blasted Sanders‘ offseason roster revamping before his first season at Colorado.

“Why are u so concerned about what folks say about u? Are u afraid that the things they say are all lies or alot of Truth. You do know your critics has critics so how could u possibly allow them to define u. Be who God called u to be & don’t concern yourself with peoples perception & misconception of u. #CoachPrime,” reads Sanders’ tweet this morning.

More than 50 scholarship players and 70 players in total have left the Colorado team since Sanders took over in December.

The former Jackson State head coach has also brought in more than his fair share of outside transfers as he continues his massive overhaul in Boulder.

“That’s not the way it’s meant to be,” Narduzzi recently told 247Sports about Sanders’ approach. “That’s not what the rule intended to be. It was not to overhaul your roster. We’ll see how it works out but that, to me, looks bad on college football coaches across the country. The reflection is on one guy right now but when you look at it overall — those kids that have moms and dads and brothers and sisters and goals in life — I don’t know how many of those 70 that left really wanted to leave or they were kicked in the butt to get out.”

Plenty have had something to say about Sanders’ way of trying to revive a moribund Colorado program. We’ll see starting in September if he’s on the right track or not.
