GAME THREAD: Pittsburgh Panthers at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The Panthers will look to snap a two game losing streak in Atlanta

After a hot 4-0 start to ACC play, the Pittsburgh Panthers will look to bounce back and snap a two-game skid against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. This will be the second game apart of their stretch of three games away from Pittsburgh.

P-I-T-T. Let’s Go Pitt.

The Panthers are currently favored by 2.5 against Georgia Tech in a place that hasn’t been an easy place for opponents to come away with a victory. The Yellow Jackets are currently 7-2 at the McCamish Pavilion including an upset victory over the then-12th-ranked Miami Hurricanes. The Yellow Jackets are led by 6’6 sharpshooter Miles Kelly. Kelly is currently the only Georgia Tech player to average double-digit scoring at 14.4 points per game and is shooting 40.2% from three.

Still, Georgia Tech is 1-5 overall in ACC play and this will need to be a team that the Panthers take care of business if they want to continue to establish themselves as a threat in the ACC and to make a tournament push. Pitt will have to have a bounce-back game in multiple areas after letting their second-half lead slip away at Duke. The Blue Devils are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the ACC and took advantage of Pitt 24-9 on the offensive glass and 51-28 overall. Georgia Tech comes into this game 5th in the ACC in rebounding and will need to limit the second chance points to not give anything easy to a team that struggles to consistently make shots.

Use this as your game thread for this matchup. For a Pitt team that lost a couple of opportunities to add quality wins the last thing they can do is add what could be an ugly loss. You can catch today’s game on the ACC Network and vent about all things Pitt basketball in the comment section below.
