A pair of Pitt commits will patrol the defensive backfield for Team Pennsylvania in the 2021 Big 33 Football Classic, as Stephon Hall of Central Valley High School and Javon McIntyre of Imhotep Institute Charter High School were selected to play in the interstate all-star game.
The game will pit Team Pennsylvania against Team Maryland, and Hall and McIntyre will be joined on the Keystone State team by former Pitt targets Khalil Dinkins of North Allegheny High School, Josh Hough of Beaver Falls High School, Donovan McMillon of Peters Township High School and Taleeq Robbins, a former teammate of McIntyre’s at Imhotep.
Opposing Team Pennsylvania in the game will be Team Maryland, and the Old Line State’s team will feature a few faces Hall and McIntyre will become familiar with at Pitt in the coming years. Among them will be Syracuse commit Marlowe Wax Jr., Virginia Tech commits Peter Moore and Dorian Strong, and West Virginia commits Danny King and David Vincent-Okoli.
In 2020, Hall played a key role on a Central Valley team that went 12-0 and won a state championship. As a two-way contributor, Hall amassed 263 rushing yards and scored 11 times on 29 carries as a running back and chipped in 14 pass breakups, 27 tackles, two tackles for losses, and one forced fumble as a safety. He also accrued 353 yards on kick and punt returns and reached the end zone twice in the course of his special teams work.
McIntyre was part of an Imhotep team that did not play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But in 2019, the Philadelphia recruit came up with 53 tackles, six tackles for losses and one fumble recovery, which he returned for a touchdown. And with the defensive back’s help, Imhotep finished with an 8-5 record.
The Big 33 Football Classic will be played at Landis Field in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on May 31.
