The 6’8″, 305-pound offensive lineman is one of the top 10 prospects in Maryland
Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt coaching staff made headway on the recruiting trail on New Year’s Day, as Andre Roye, a massive tackle out of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, released his top six and included Pitt as a finalist.

Roye’s top six consists of Arizona State, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, Pitt and Rutgers. That list was created by cutting half the programs on his offer sheet from contention. The programs no longer under consideration are Baylor, Boston College, Buffalo, Temple, Tennessee and UMass.
The 6’8”, 305-pound offensive lineman holds three-star ratings from 247Sports and Rivals. The former ranks Roye as the No. 41 offensive tackle in the 2022 class and the No. 10 prospect out of Maryland, while the latter places him at No. 23 in the Old Line State but ranks him outside of its overall top 250.
From Pitt’s standpoint, one of the most striking details about Roye, other than his sheer size, is that he attends Baltimore powerhouse St. Frances Academy, where Pitt has fared well before. In 2020, Pitt landed a commitment from St. Frances lineman Michael Statham.
Pitt is also in the process of building up its offensive line of the future, with Jimmy Morrissey and Bryce Hargrove testing the waters in the professional ranks, and if the program can sign Roye, it will be better positioned for the coming years.
