This is another reminder of how fluid the college football recruiting world is

This is another reminder of how rapidly things change in the world of college football recruiting.

In a stunning turn of events on Monday, 4-star Quarterback Kenny Minchey de-committed from the Pittsburgh Panthers. The quarterback out of Hendersonville, Tennessee was the top quarterback commit for the Panthers going into the 2023 season. It was only a week ago that reports surfaced that Minchey would enroll early at Pitt. In Minchey’s announcement on Twitter, he thanked Coach Narduzzi, Coach Dibiaso, and the rest of the Panthers staff for “believing in me and providing me with an opportunity to play college football.”

With questions swirling around the program’s relationship with current starting quarterback Kedon Slovis past this season, this news throws a huge curveball into any plans that Coach Narduzzi and the organization may have for the 2023 season and beyond. The biggest question now is whether the Panthers stick with Slovis in 2023, go to the transfer portal for another quarterback, or get another player to commit and replace Minchey as the heir apparent to the offense at Acrisure Stadium.

Now that Minchey has de-committed the current plan for him is to visit the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. The thought around College Football currently is that is the likely landing spot for the 4-star commit.

This is a breaking news story and details will be added as they become available. Stay tuned to Cardiac Hill for the latest news on Minchey’s decision and where this leaves the Panthers going forward.
