For the second straight year, the Penguins rode down the Boulevard of the Allies with the Stanley Cup in tow.
Eight years ago today, the Penguins strolled through the streets of Pittsburgh with the Stanley Cup in tow for a second straight season.
The Penguins had just gone back-to-back to win the Stanley Cup two years in a row, the first team to do so in nearly two decades and the prized trophy was coming back to Pittsburgh.
One year prior, the Penguins rode down the Boulevard of the Allies with the Cup and it felt like a celebration of relief in some ways, coming after several years of postseason disappointments.
But this year, it was a full on party for the back-to-back champions.
Olli Maatta had himself a day and eventually passed out on a balcony.

The parade even broke the attendance record from the year before. It actually shattered the record.
In 2016, an estimated 400,000 fans attended the Cup parade but in 2017, the parade for the back-to-back champions blew that record away with an estimated 650,000 fans in Pittsburgh for the big celebration.
