Wotherspoon, 27, played with the Boston Bruins for the last two seasons. Prior to that he was originally drafted in 2015 by the New York Islanders. Analytically, Wotherspoon is a player that might be worth, he had some standout attributes for Boston last season in 55 games — where he averaged playing 18:02 per game.
Parker Wotherspoon has had some pretty fascinating underlyings in his time with the Bruins.
He’s a UFA on July 1. Wonder where he ends up and if someone gives him a full shot on a bottom pair.
He’s a great skater, fiesty, and makes a crisp first pass. #Bruins #Isles pic.twitter.com/P2lzJO2lYv

Wotherspoon recorded one goal and six assists last season. He’s played 108 career NHL games to this point.
The Pens can use the defensive depth on the left side after seeing Matt Grzelcyk and P.O. Joseph venture off into free agency. Wotherspoon isn’t going to be a major piece and fits in with what GM Kyle Dubas promised would be a limited free agency period in terms of contracts offered, but does give Pittsburgh a little bit more depth to work with for the upcoming season.
