Penguins welcome a desperate Blues squad to Pittsburgh and Pens Points has everything to get your ready for puck drop.

Tuesday’s win over the Vegas Golden Knights was the first time the Pittsburgh Penguins had won back-to-back games in over a month. If they can defeat the St. Louis Blue this evening, it will be only the second time this season they have won three games in a row and the first since Thanksgiving weekend. Right now the Blue sit just a point out of the second Wild Card in the West meaning they will be desperate for a win to keep pace.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Sportsnet Pittsburgh.

Pens Points…

Tristan Jarry has been nearly perfect since his return to the lineup, a far cry from the form he showed most of the season. While there is nothing to play for in terms of playoff hopes, Jarry finding his game will hopefully boost his trade value. [Pensburgh]

When he was placed on waivers and ultimately sent down to the AHL, Jarry could have very well packed it in and forced his way out. Instead he accepted his demotion and has been rewarded with another chance in the NHL. [Penguins]

It remains to be seen exactly where the Penguins will pick in the upcoming NHL Draft, but we can expect it to be a high selection. This isn’t considered to be an especially deep draft class, but there will be plenty of options wherever they pick to bolster the system. [Pensburgh]

It didn’t take Vladislav Kolyachonok long to make a positive impression on the Penguins coaching staff and earn a promotion to the top blue line unit. A vote of confidence for the newcomer looking to stick in Pittsburgh. [Trib Live]

NHL News and Notes…

Just five players have dressed for an NHL game this season without wearing a visor for protection. That number will continue to dwindle as those players retire out but don’t expect any of them to start wearing a visor while active. [Sportsnet]

Jonathan Quick will be staying in New York City for at least another season after the netminder agreed to a one-year contract extension on Wednesday with the New York Rangers. [Rangers]

When he was drafted two spots behind Connor Bedard in the 2023 NHL Draft, Adam Fantilli was seen as a consolation prize for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Now in his second season, Fantilli might be exceeding Bedard as a player already. [Daily Faceoff]
