The Pittsburgh Penguins traveled to the other side of Pennsylvania Monday night to conclude their home-and-home set with fierce rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers. Two goals between both teams meant both teams went to overtime. From there, bad things happened again. [Recap]

Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov was a healthy scratch for Monday’s game against the Arizona Coyotes, with head coach Spencer Carbery calling it a “mental reset” for the veteran. [Sportsnet]

The salary cap is expected to rise to approximately $87.675 million for the 2024-25 season, the league announced at the Board of Governors meeting Monday. That’s an approximate $4 million increase from this season. [Sportsnet]
