Pittsburgh Penguin Fan Severly Injured During Tonight’s Game versus the St. Louis Blues

October 29, 2025 by Last Word On Hockey

The Pittsburgh Penguins had some very unfortunate news during their game Monday night versus the St. Louis Blues. After Anthony Mantha scored the second goal for the Pens at PPG Paints Arena, a fan had a terrible accident. Apparently, he was simply just trying to jump over a seat, as to not disturb other people. Then, he tripped and fell. It is a very scary situation for onlookers. He fell from the 200 to the 100 level seats. The man was unconscious as onlookers summoned help. It is tough to know the details, other than he left in critical condition, with life-threatening injuries. Everybody’s thoughts and prayers are with the man.

Pittsburgh Penguins Fan Critically Injured During Game Against the St. Louis Blues Tonight

The Pittsburgh Penguins organization are extremely concerned over the situation. We know they will give us any relevant updates as they become available. We all hope he is all right.

High School Sports Network producer Jess Levo was at the game and gave the following report. Basically, it was scary and all you could offer him was your support.

Prayers for the young man who fell tonight. Happened right in front of me. I’m not going to say anymore about it. Just please pray for him.

The State of the Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues Game

The Mantha goal made it 2-0 Pens, happened just 55 seconds into the game. The game would continue, as it seemed the severity of the situation was somewhat unknown. Emergency staff did act promptly during the situation.

The event overshadowed Sidney Crosby‘s milestone achievement. Crosby recorded his 1700th point in the game, becoming just the ninth player to ever do it. Mario Lemieux and Steve Yzerman being the only others to ever do it with one franchise. Furthermore, the final score in tonight’s contest was 6-3 for the Penguins.

The sporting world is just in shock. This truly is unfortunate, and has happened in recent Pittsburgh sports. They have had someone injured at a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and a Steelers football game in the not to distant past. In any case, at this time, our thoughts are with the man and the entire Pittsburgh Penguins fanbase.
