Pittsburgh adds a couple of young players
After trading three players away today at the NHL trade deadline, the Penguins have counteracted that with a deal just before the deadline to add two Con(n)or’s from Toronto. Defender Conor Timmons and forward Connor Deware are reportedly on the way to Pittsburgh in exchange for a late-round pick.
The #pens are giving up a late-round draft pick to take Conor Timmins and Connor Dewar from Toronto. The #leafs needed to clear salary.

Timmins, 26, was picked up by Dubas in 2022 as a reclamation project following a series of concussions that knocked his career off track. He’s appeared in 51 games this season scoring two goals (including one against the Pens last week) and adding six assists. Timmins has a $1.1 million cap hit and will be a restricted free agent this summer. He gives Pittsburgh a right handed option they need after recent trades of Vincent Desharnais and Luke Schenn.
Dewar, 25, joined Toronto last year and has no direct Dubas connection. He has no goals and three assists in 31 NHL games this season and a $1.18 million contract that ends in restricted free agency this summer if the Pens want to keep him.
It has not yet revealed which pick(s) from the pile Pittsburgh has accumulated is going out.
