Everybody, if you can, do the Bartman!
The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated catcher Joey Bart from the 7-day IL, reinstating him after he was suffering from concussion like symptoms in Arizona following a backswing to the helmet and getting beamed by a foul tip against the Diamondbacks.
Bart would undergo a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis, where in five games he would go 3-for-13, gathering two RBIs, four walks, and reached on a hit by pitch.
Before his injury Bart was in an all-time slump. Though he did start the season well, hitting .240 through the first 44 games of the season, he would start to fall apart as he went 4-for-43 in a 12 game span before suffering his concussion.

Henry Davis has seen a majority of the reps as the team’s catcher in Bart’s absence. He was having a great stretch at the plate, and seemed to be turning a corner offensively. He has since cooled down though, only hitting .188 in the month of June. Needless to say, the Pirates’ catchers are not exactly lighting the world on fire.
Bart made his return to the team in Tuesday’s contest against the Detroit Tigers. In his first game back he went 0-for-3 at the plate, striking out once.
