The question of the decade perhaps.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Pittsburgh Pirates fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Paul Skenes is having another top-notch campaign so far in his sophomore season. He’s currently sporting a 3-2 record to go along with a 2.39 ERA, a sparkling 0.796 WHIP, a league-leading FIP of 1.74, as well as 39 strikeouts against just 4 walks in 37 innings pitched so far this year. He’s hands down the best Bucco and possibly the best pitcher in baseball.
However, we all know the Pirates stink. As things look now, they’re going to continue to stink for the foreseeable future. Skenes is eligible for arbitration in 2027 and free agency in 2030. He’s making $875,000 this season. He’s sure to be looking for a (deserved) monster deal.
What we want to know is if you think the Bucs re-sign him, do not re-sign him, or trade him long before we get to that point?
