The Yankees seem to want half the team at this point.
It’s been long reported that the New York Yankees are interested in Pirates starting pitcher Mitch Keller and top reliever David Bednar, along with some every day players as well (Ke’Bryan Hayes), but a new report today also has the Yanks sniffing around several other Bucs hurlers as well.
According to Brian Hoch, MLB.com’s Yankees beat man, the Bronx Bombers are also after Andrew Heaney, Dennis Santana and Caleb Ferguson.

The left-handed Heaney holds a 5-9 record with a 4.79 ERA, a 1.271 WHIP, and 79 Ks in 107 innings, while righty Santana has been one of the best set-up men in baseball, holding a 1.39 ERA, 0.838 WHIP, 5 saves and 36 strikeouts in 45.1 innings pitched to go along with a 3-2 record.
Ferguson, another lefty, sits a 2-2 on the year in a middle relief role, while also sporting a 3.74 ERA, a 1.085 WHIP and 34 strikeouts in 43 innings pitched.
With the MLB Trade Deadline just two days away, the last-place Bucs are certain to be sellers, and the Yankees have been linked to just about every single available Pirate at this point. That’s often the case for contenders with money to spend like New York, but there’s been enough smoke at this point to assume that the Buccos are likely to move at least one of the numerous Bucs they Yankees have been interested in to the Bronx.
Tell us in the comments which Buc or Bucs you think are heading to New York at the deadline.
