We have talked at length this offseason about how important it could be for the Pittsburgh Steelers to maximize their return in the 2024 NFL draft. We’ve also talked about how when the Pittsburgh Steelers go on the clock with the No. 20 overall pick, they should have their pick of at least four or five comparable players at positions of need.
This is why the Steelers could definitely be in the market to move back and it sounds like they might have a team who would be willing to go up into that spot.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht talked about NFL draft strategy and specifically noted the No. 20 pick as a pivot point for them to consider a trade up.
“I’d say around pick 20, we’ll know if we want to start attempting to move up or not,” said Licht. “I would say right now, I like the thought of the way I really have a lot of trust in my staff – both the coaching staff and the scouting staff – and how we’ve been operating. Those picks seem pretty important to me, right now.”
If we were guessing, we’d say the Bucs are looking to see if FSU edge defender Jared Verse slips a little which would make that pick worth more to any team hoping to go up and get a top edge rusher.
