Rodgers will play for under $20 million in 2025.
After months of waiting, free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers is finally a Steeler — officially. The team announced Saturday that he’s finally put pen to paper.
The last piece of the puzzle? Rodgers’ contract.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Rodgers’ contract is one year, $13.65 million with $10 million guaranteed. With $5.85 million of incentives, it could reach a maximum value of $19.5 million.

It’s not the veteran minimum that Pittsburgh signed Russell Wilson for last season, but Rodgers’ $13.65 million mark falls under the Colts’ Daniel Jones ($14 million) in terms of quarterback average per year, and even if he hits every incentive, Rodgers will still make less than Justin Fields ($20 million) in 2025.

Rodgers previously quipped that he’d play for $10 million this season. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer later said he believed that number was “sort of exclusive to the Rams.”
Entering his age-41 season, Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer and the NFL’s seventh all-time leading passer. Last season with the New York Jets, he threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He made his last Pro Bowl in 2021.
What’s next? Steelers mandatory veteran minicamp begins June 10. Rodgers will speak to the media following Tuesday’s practice.
