The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the 2021 class and two Pittsburgh Steelers made it. The team announced that former guard Alan Faneca and former scout Bill Nunn both made the list.
This is Faneca’s sixth time as a finalist and it could finally be his year. Former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Tony Boselli is the only other offensive lineman named a finalist. If there was ever a year for Faneca to sneak in, it would be in 2021.
Nunn is highly regarded as a brilliant football mind and a huge part of building those great Steelers teams of the 70s that won four Super Bowls. Nunn is nominated as a contributor and it is long past due the get the recognition he deserves as a talent evaluator.
The one big absence from the finalists from a Steelers perspective is wide receiver Hines Ward.
