Ben Roethlisberger spent this entire week away from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ facility due to COVID-19 protocols. Fortunately though, he’s been cleared just in time for this Sunday’s showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Steelers placed Roethlisberger on the Reserve/COVID-19 list shortly after tight end Vance McDonald tested positive for the virus. He wasn’t the only one considered a close contact, as Jerald Hawkins, Jaylen Samuels and Vince Williams were also placed on the list.
Now that Roethlisberger has been activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, he had the chance to talk to reporters before tomorrow’s game.
Roethlisberger had a hilarious response when talking about his week away from the team facility, saying “My body enjoyed the week off, my mind, from teaching pre-k, did not.”

It’s not surprising to hear that Roethlisberger’s body enjoyed the week off. He suffered a knee injury last weekend against the Dallas Cowboys that looked pretty serious.
Roethlisberger, who missed almost all of the 2019 season due to an elbow injury, has been really sharp this season.
In eight starts this year, Roethlisberger has 1,934 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and four interceptions. Though he’s hinted at retirement in the past, the two-time Super Bowl champion still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
The Steelers will need a solid performance from Roethlisberger, as their defense will probably have its hands full with Bengals rookie quarterback Joe Burrow.
