Ben Roethlisberger will be the next Steeler named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame

When the Pro Football Hall of Fame finally has their induction ceremony for the 2020 and 2021 classes, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be well represented. Pittsburgh will see five legends get in, including Bill Cowher, Troy Polamalu, Donnie Shell, Alan Faneca and Bill Nunn.

But who is next? This has become a topic with the recent retirement of center Maurkice Pouncey. He will become eligible in 2026. Additionally, wide receiver Hines Ward is already eligible but in five tries has never been a finalist.

So if I’m a betting man, I put my money on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger being the next Steelers to be named to the HOF. Back in 2016, I said Troy Polamalu would be the next Steelers in the HOF even though he wasn’t even eligible yet and I was right. This time I’m calling for Roethlisberger to be the next in and he’s not even retired yet.

I know many will lobby for Ward and Pouncey which is fair. But the reality is both of these guys have long waits ahead of them. Roethlisberger is first-ballot the first year he can get in, just like Polamalu was.
