Exactly 40% of remaining contestants were eliminated on Sunday.
The Behind The Steel Curtain survivor pool continued on in Week 11 as the choices get even tougher as over a third of the teams have been used up. With less than 40 contestants remaining, one upset could take out a large percentage of people remaining and that’s exactly what happened this week. While technically there were 355 total entries, I had one entry in each league as the commissioner so there were 352 different contestants. Hundreds have entered, but only one can go home with the autographed Maurkice Pouncey football.
The most common selection for Week 11 was the Los Angeles Chargers over the New York Jets. Although the Chargers were up by 18 points at halftime, the Jets fought their way back to make it a one score game. But close doesn’t matter in the NFL so the 16 contestants who chose the Chargers move on to Week 12.
The next most popular pick was the Minnesota Vikings over the Dallas Cowboys. In a back-and-forth game, the Cowboys regained the lead inside of the final two minutes. Minnesota failed to respond as they couldn’t even manage a first down and 10 contestants were knocked out of the competition.
There were only seven different games chosen this week with four of those seven being incorrect. The other incorrect choices were New England, Miami, and Baltimore where the correct selections of Pittsburgh and Cleveland rounded out the seven games.
So after eleven weeks, only 5.9% of entries still remain. Congratulations to the 21 contestants still remaining, but 20 of you will still have to be eliminated. If you are still alive, make sure you enter your pick early so you don’t get knocked out due to a lack of selection. This is your reminder, so go make your pick now!
Upcoming Week 12 Games of Note:
- Most heavily favored: Green Bay (-8.5) over Chicago
- Closest match up: Arizona (-2.5) at New England
- The Steelers match up: Pittsburgh (-4) over Baltimore
- Byes: None!
