The former NFL GM doesn’t see the Steelers partnership with Aaron Rodgers going well
Everyone seems to have an opinion on the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ new partnership with Aaron Rodgers, as the four-time MVP agreed to terms with the Steelers on a one-year contract ahead of mandatory mini-camp. And for the majority of these opinions are all the same regurgitated take passed around the NFL media landscape, as everyone takes turns bashing Rodgers and Arthur Smith.
Among the latest to give his take is former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, who says Rodgers and the Steelers will be “irrelevant.”
“I think Aaron Rodgers is going to be irrelevant by Thanksgiving,” Tannenbaum said on Get Up. [The Steelers will be] a non-playoff team [with] a 42-year-old quarterback who’s a legend that is going off into the sunset.”

Tannenbaum doesn’t exactly have the greatest track record when discussing the Steelers. Remember this one about Ben Roethlisberger?
“[Ben Roethlisberger] is going to be bad,” Tannenbaum said ahead of the 2021 season. “I expect him to be benched by the middle of the season.”
Roethlisberger had 22 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions that season and led the Steelers to the playoffs in his final year.

If Tannenbaum’s track record is consistent, Rodgers will be very good and the Steelers will be a playoff team in 2025.
