Four Downs: Steelers games feature an abundance of 3-and-outs, punts

Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger in sacked during the third quarter of a game against the Buffalo Bills last month. The sack led to what were one of five “three-and-outs” by the Steelers offense in that game and one of eight overall such short drives that ended in a punt by both teams. The Steelers lead the NFL in three-and-outs both on offense and in those forced defensively.
