The Steelers are (kinda) back!
Welcome back to BTSC’s Friday night open thread:
- The story of the week is the George Pickens trade, but let’s not ignore Steelers rookie minicamp, which started today. How closely are you following it? It’s fun to see draft picks with the team and there are some good quotes, but it’s just more football in shorts.
- Of the 25 players trying out for the team over the weekend, is there anyone you’re particularly rooting for?
- The NFL schedule release is coming May 14. Any particular hopes for what the Steelers’ looks like? Any usual gripes you have with the schedule year to year?
- We can’t ignore the Pickens trade. Everyone has already given their reaction to it, so let’s look at a different angle: Predict the Steelers’ Week 1 wide receiver depth chart.
- The Steelers rookie class is signing with the team quickly this year. Who plays more snaps in 2025? Will Howard or Jack Sawyer? Yahya Black or Carson Bruener?
- Rookie classes across the league have chosen their jersey numbers ahead of the new season. Give me all your numerical hot takes. Should teams/players be willing to unretire numbers for new players? Was making No. 0 legal correct, dumb, or whatever? Do you have a problem with edge rushers picking numbers in the 30s, or tight ends wearing the 40s, etc., etc.?
