Hilton is one of 4 Steelers who carry an injury status for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.
The Pittsburgh Steelers finished up with their final official preparation to face the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. With quarterback Ben Roethlisberger not eligible to come off the NFL’s Revserve/COVID-19 List until Saturday, the Steelers are expected to have an extended walk through on Saturday. But in regards to the Steelers’ injury report, Friday will be final report for the week. In the final injury report courtesy of the Steelers PR department, no players have been ruled out for Sunday’s game while 4 have been labeled as questionable.
It should be noted that any player currently on the Steelers Reserve/COVID-19 List does not appear on the teams injury report. News on their status will be announced on Saturday.
Two members of the Steelers missed Friday’s practice due to an illness and are listed as questionable for Sunday. Running back Anthony McFarland Jr. and offensive lineman Kevin Dotson were held out of practice in what head coach Mike Tomlin described as non-Covid sickness.
“No, those are illness-related, but, obviously, being in the heightened circumstance that we are in terms of the intensive protocol, we are exercising all of the proper precautions and not allowing those guys to come to work even though it’s an illness.” Tomlin said after practice on Friday when asked if the two rookies were dealing with Covid-related illness.
After missing the Steelers last three games with a shoulder injury, cornerback Mike Hilton was hoping to return to the lineup in Week 10. After being a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, Hilton has been limited the last two days and it’s questionable for the game on Sunday.
“He’s been a limited participant all week,” Tomlin said in regards to Hilton’s availability. “We will continue to monitor his progress in the last 48 hours toward game time.”
Tyson Alualu missed the Steelers Week 9 game with a sprained MCL, but was able to return to practice on Wednesday and Thursday in a limited fashion. Alualu was a full participant in Friday’s practice and carries no injury status. According to head coach Mike Tomlin, he believes Alualu will play on Sunday.
“I have very little reservations regarding his abilities or availability, so he is a go,” Tomlin started after Friday’s practice.
The other player who was limited in Thursday’s practice was defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs with an ankle injury. Unlike last week when he was a full participant on Friday and had no injury status, Buggs was limited in Friday’s practice and is listed as questionable.
One other player of note is fullback Derek Watt who was a full participant again all week and has no injury status. It should be noted Watt did exactly the same last week in regards to participation and injury designation but was inactive for the Steelers Week 9 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
