Panthers interview Seahawks vice president of football operations Scott Fitterer and Steelers vice president of football and business administration Omar Khan for general manager vacancy

First it was the Houston Texans and now the Carolina Panthers are working to lure Steelers VP of football and business administration Omar Khan away from the Steelers.
If you don’t know who Khan is, he’s the guy who manages the Steelers salary cap with a deft touch. Pittsburgh is one of the best teams in the league in finding ways to fit players and contracts under the cap and much of the credit goes to Khan.
A possible move by Khan couldn’t come at a worse time for the Steelers. Pittsburgh is entering an offseason where the list of free agents is long and the money to spend is sparse.
The Panthers are well aware of what Khan brings to the table. Carolina owner David Tepper was a minority owner of the Steelers from 2009 until he bought the Panthers in 2018.
