Player ballots go out for proposed CBA on Thursday

March 6, 2020 by Steelers Wire Leave a Comment

The future of the NFL could be changed dramatically in the next week. The league is heading into the final year of the current CBA and the proposal put forth by the league and approved for a vote by the NFLPA calls for some significant changes to the schedule.

On Thursday, as reported by NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, ballots went out to all players and they have until March 12 to turn them in. Just based on public opinion via social media, fans and players alike are quite divided by the current proposal.

Ballots will go out to players at 9 a.m. ET today to vote on ratification of the proposed CBA and voting will be open until 11:59 p.m. ET next Thursday, March 12, per source.

The biggest moving piece in the proposal is about expanding the regular season by one game to 17 and adding one playoff team to each conference. This is a big deal for the league due to added TV revenue and for the players, they view this as an opportunity to make more money.

Which side of the debate do you fall on? I think most fans, no matter which side of this debate you are on, do not want to see a work stoppage.
