Come and join this merry band of Steelers’ faithful for some lively debate about our Steelers, good food, music, and the merits of the odd cold beverage.

Live from Delaware, it’s Saturday Night! I, NAS204PSU, am here to bring you this Saturday Night Open Thread (aka SNOT).

It’s that time of year. Schools out! My kiddos are out of school and looking to enjoy their free tine before starting new chapters (one is changing schools for middle school, the other is on to high school). I’ll be looking forward to my usual part time job as chauffeur for the next 2.7 months.

This 6 pack of questions is here to get the conversation going is below, also let us know what you’re eating/drinking!

  1. QB or not QB is no longer the question. What’s the best simile/metaphor of the Aaron Rodgers signing with the Steelers?

A. Will age like fine wine
B. Will be weathered like an old oak
C. Will be worn like an old shoe
D. Will be like dating your high school crush in his/her forties after his/her second divorce.
E. Write your own in the comment section

2. I’m setting the over/under at 12 for the use of R-E-L-A-X references (including gifs) during game day threads. You taking the over, under or push?

3. There were quite a few memes around the parallels of Brett Favre’s career journey (Packers>Jets>Vikings) though Aaron’s a Steeler instead. In Favre’s first season with the Vikings, he led them to the NFC championship where they lost in OT to eventual SB champion Saints after a late Favre INT.
If Aaron leads the Steelers to an AFC championship round exit(so at least one playoff win, maybe two) does that make Rodgers signing a success?

4. Celebrity feuds seem to be in the news a lot lately. Have you or your friends ever had a tiff and start slinging mud (figuratively or literally)? Were you able to make up and stay friends or did you part ways as enemies?

5. Both of my kids have quite a few friends going to other schools next year. Tell us about how you’ve managed to stay in touch with a friend(s) even when your lives diverged.

6. Summer jobs are a great way to gain experience and some cold hard cash. Tell us about your favorite summer job(s).

Bonus: SOTN= School’s Out – Alice Cooper
