The three-time All-Pro has never missed an offseason program
While the NFL schedule release is what everyone is looking forward to today, and has been the talk of the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers have something in-house that is catching eyes.
Three-time All-Pro defensive tackle Cam Heyward has not attended any voluntary offseason workout programs, and according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Heyward is not planning to attend OTAs as he is seeking a contract extension.

Heyward had told Steelers Now that he was hoping to get a contract extension and that he wanted to play for three more seasons. He also noted he would hope to do it in Pittsburgh, but his wording made it sound as if he would be comfortable playing elsewhere if a deal didn’t get done.
While the news of Heyward wanting an extension was somewhat surprising, as he just turned 35, the six-time Pro Bowler skipping out on workouts is very surprising.
