The Pittsburgh Steelers fan base has spoken, and their confidence level in the team heading into Week 5 is high.
How confident are they in the Steelers advancing their record to 4-0, or are they having their doubts facing Carson Wentz and company?
If you’ve lived long enough, you know all about the Steelers’ struggles against the Eagles, especially in Philadelphia. Thankfully, this game will be played at Heinz Field, with fans in the stands for the first time in 2020. Sure, it may just be 5,500 fans, but it will provide an energy the team hasn’t had so far this season.
As it pertains to the confidence the fan base has in their favorite team, here at SB Nation they gauge the confidence in the weekly Reacts Poll. This week the chart shows a steady increase in fan confidence prior to Week 5.
If you want to know just how the fan confidence has changed since the end of the 2019 season, you can see the percentages below:
End of 2019: 59%
Pre NFL Free Agency: 72%
Post 2020 NFL Draft: 81%
Heading into Week 1: 90%
Heading into Week 2: 94%
Heading into Week 3: 87%
Heading into Week 4: 90%
The Steelers are 3-0, and yet there are clearly fans who are not confident in their ability to remain perfect, even against a 1-2-1 Eagles team this Sunday. Even after beating the Texans in Week 3, the confidence level in the team somehow went down.
No one ever said Steelers fans aren’t a fickle bunch.
What do you think about the team moving forward? Are you confident in their ability to continue to improve? Or have we seen the best of this Steelers team? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below, and be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the black and gold as they host the Eagles this Sunday in Week 5.
