It wasn’t always pretty but the Pittsburgh Steelers went into Buffalo as underdogs and made a statement beating the Bills. Pittsburgh used a dominant defensive performance and a 17-point fourth quarter to salt the game away.
The Steelers offense finished the game off as Ben Roethlisberger and the rest of the offense milked the clock down, making it impossible for the Bills to have enough time to mount a comeback. Roethlisberger spoke to the media after the game and as the consummate competitor was critical of how his offense performed late in the game. I’m sure if Roethlisberger could have had it his way, the offense never gives the ball back to the Bills late with a shot at that onside kick.
This is especially relevant because it comes back to the struggling run game and the new offensive line. Being able to control the clock and controlling the football is all going to come down to better play by this young group of offensive linemen.
